About Matt

Matt was born to be a musician. Matt is a guitar player with experience that defies his age. Coming from a musical family, father playing bass and brother playing drums, he first picked up a guitar when he was five and went on to have lessons for six years. His passion for music meant that he decided to study classical music at diploma and a-level and a degree in popular music performance.

Matt has played with various bands formed with friends from his home town which lead to the formation of Kadence - achieving local success, BBC radio airplay and an invitation to play at the world famous Jazz Cafe. After this experience Matt knew that he only wanted to be a musician. Spurred on by the success of his former band mates, Matt decided that his move to the capital to study would help him realise his true potential. It was here Matt joined hip hop/indie band The Stow. The Stow have won two awards, Best Live Act and Best Unsigned Band, they have toured the UK supporting VV Brown and played Glastonbury 2010.

Matt's musical sphere is vast and he draws inspiration from the likes of Hendrix and Clapton, through to Joe Bonamassa and John Mayer, as well as funk, jazz and R&B. His shear determination is something to be admired and his ultimate dream is to be able to influence musicians the way he has been inspired by his heroes.
